If you want a stylish and durable patio or attractive and practical pathways, our landscapers can make your dream a reality.
During your design and planning consultation, we advise you on the best materials and layouts to stay within your budget while achieving your desired style. We’ll also assess ground conditions, available space and any existing features we need to work around. This ensures your new patio or pathway is long-lasting and complements your landscape.
We source materials from market-leading suppliers such as Marshalls and Stonecraft. As patio laying experts, we offer a variety of patterns and construct patios and pathways of all shapes, styles and sizes.
Examples of the materials used for new patios include the following:
Brothers Fencing & Landscaping Ltd operates in Bristol and the surrounding areas, specialising in groundworks, patio laying and other landscaping services.
When designing hardstandings, many details must be considered. For instance, our landscapes recommend using smaller paving slabs to cover smaller areas and larger paving slabs to make a vast landscape feel more homely.
Once we have completed a free site survey and agreed on a design, we will set a start date to begin work. We begin by clearing the site and digging 150mm into the designated patio area. A 100mm compact sub-base is then positioned to support the surface materials. Next, we cover the area with 40mm of concrete mix, which is covered with 15mm paving slabs with a 10-15mm gap between each slab to prevent erosion.
These materials will be left to set for at least 24 hours before the gaps between the slabs are filled with concrete mix. Finally, the site will be cleared of garden waste and building rubble.
Our landscapers understand that we’re working in your private space, so we also wash down pathways and paving slabs to ensure we leave your landscape as clean and tidy as possible.
When you’re happy with everything, we’ll accept payment.
The best way to maintain concrete surfacing is by keeping it clean. Regularly sweeping your patio and paths will remove most dirt and debris. The occasional wash with soap and water or a power washer will eliminate the rest to maintain aesthetic appeal. We also recommend resealing it to prevent damage and staining.
